Dr Berlin Tran

Dr. Berlin Tran is a post-doctoral researcher currently based in Saigon, Vietnam. His research interests are wide, ranging from organisation studies and management to the digital and political economy. He has also actively engaged with higher education institutions in Vietnam, both domestic and foreign, in various consultancy and training capacities. Dr. Berlin is a teacher by trade and used to work for the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).
Dr Gerbrand Tholen

Gerbrand is a sociologist of work and education. His research interests include the graduate labour market, the role of education within work, occupational change, recruitment and selection, and the marketisation of Higher Education. He is the author of Graduate Work: Skills, Credentials, Careers, and Labour Markets (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2017) and Modern Work and the Marketisation of Higher Education (Bristol: Policy Press, 2022).
Himanshu Tambe
Research Fellow, Digital Futures of Work
As Chief of Enterprise Solutions at SIM, Himanshu is responsible for all customer acquisition and customer relationships across students, mid-careerists, and enterprises in Southeast Asia. Till recently he was the Managing Director responsible for Accenture’s People & Organisation Advisory Business for ASEAN. Himanshu has deep experience working with senior executive teams to execute change through vision and values alignment, designing and implementing Human Capital and Organisation Design interventions, and creating organisation and service delivery architecture.
Ken Charman
Research Fellow, Digital Futures of Work
From 2018 to 2022 Ken Charman was CEO of uFlexReward, a tech start-up owned by Unilever, that prepares business for the demands of the future of work, by digitising employee reward for global firms. He has been a CEO and investor in a series of enterprise software start-ups that led to one IPO and successful trade sales to Oracle, Cognos, Business Objects and Sungard. From 2006-2010 he was a Visiting Fellow in War Studies at KCL and CEO of Simulstrat, a strategy simulation business, that was acquired by Deloitte. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, an alumni of London Business School and has an MSc in Major Programmes from Said Business School, Oxford University (2013).
Millie Lee

Millie has been working with the IAL as adult educator, consultant and researcher for the past 9 years. Her research interests are in the areas of work and learning, motivation, inequality and social mobility. She is currently involved in research projects investigating the changing skills landscape in the context of the evolving economy and labour market.
